You now have the framework for building your team (because you followed our guide here) and you are ready to start your career in Madden Ultimate Team.

WHERE DO I GO FIRST?

The first thing you want to do is go into the Item Sets area in the main Ultimate Team dashboard.

From here you can chose what you’d like to work for.

The two I suggest looking at are the Elite and MVP item sets. You will see that there is a reward for completing each team’s set, you get a player and coins. Find the reward you want to work towards.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ELITE AND MVP?

Elite rewards you with…

  • 90 overall player
  • MUT Master Collectible
  • 15,000 coins

MVP rewards you with…

  • 93 overall player
  • Road Master Collectible
  • 20,00 coins

While MVP might look like the better deal the big difference is to complete the set in Elite you need only one Elite badge, in MVP you need two Elite badges. Since an Elite Badge goes for about 40,000 – 50,000 coins if bought on the open market you have to decide if it’s worth it to just buy the player you are going to try for instead of possibly spending more to gain him through this.

HOW DO I START MY SEASON?

In the Solo Challenges are there is a area called Road to the Playoffs and one called Regular Season. If you have chosen the Elite reward you will chose Regular Season. If you have chosen to go after an MVP award you will choose the Road to the Playoffs.

Regular Season is the first half seasons of each team. They start off on rookie difficulty and gradually increase in difficulty until you are playing your finale on the All-Pro difficulty. Completing a team’s Regular Season allows you to play that team’s Elite challenge.

Road to the Playoffs are the second half seasons of each team. They start off on rookie difficulty and gradually increase in difficulty until you are playing your finale on the All-Pro difficulty. Completing a team’s Road to the Playoffs allows you to play that team’s MVP challenge.

The challenge for the MVP and Elite are as follows…

The Elite challenge…

  • The team you chose with a 92 overall team rank
  • All-Madden difficulty
  • 4000 coins
  • Elite pack

The MVP challenge…

  • The team you chose with a 95 overall team rank
  • All-Madden difficulty
  • 4,000 coins
  • MVP pack

Once you win the game you will take that team specific Elite or MVP card and add it to it’s respective set.

To complete the set you will need your reward for the Elite or MVP challenge, one or two Elite badges (depending if you chose MVP or Elite), and some player cards from the team you chose.
