There are two things I hate…
Dungeon Stars has both of these things and I don’t mind either so that’s a great sign right off the bat.
I was given a preview build of the game and so far I really like playing it. If you wan to try other awesome games, check now Wizard Slots.
Dungeon Stars has you taking control of multiple heroes as you explore dungeons to rescue heroes, get pets, and gain loot. Every hero you rescue you add to your party to explore dungeons. The pets can accompany the heroes giving them certain abilities or buffs. The loot? Well, we all know how to use loot.
Why are you traversing all these dungeons? To make it all the way to the big baddie at the end. Well you should consider checking the available games at sattaking.
Here are a few things I’ve noticed while playing…
There’s a water beats fire, fire beats earth, earth beats water thing going on here. Each hero is based on a specific element and depending on the enemies on a certain level they’re either weaker or stronger. The nice thing is that on the main map screen showing what dungeons you’ll be attacking it shows the element of everyone you’ll fight. Sometimes you’ll get an easy run of one element and sometimes it’ll be different elements, and still is a really interesting game that keep you entertain although I also like to play other type of game like Casino games as well, which you can totally find online check out now here for options for this.
I like how you can switch heroes on the fly. You enter with three heroes and by hitting either Q or A you’re able to switch to heroes with better elements or just more health.
Dungeon Stars controls are pretty fantastic, as I said above I’m not a big fan of keyboard controls for action games but this feels right using a keyboard.
Left arrow is quick attack and right arrow is a powerful attack. For blocking you hold quick attack and for a smash, you hold powerful attack.
Switching characters uses Q and A and for your abilities, you use Z, X, and C.
It’s a game where you don’t have to force your hands into yoga poses to control the game. There’s also a way to map the controls to a controller for those who prefer that. I tried both options but I’m more comfortable with the keyboard.
While playing Dungeon Stars I came across stars that were captured. Each one I rescued gave me access to a special dungeon for a limited time.
The loot is easy to use. There are item slots for each hero. Click on a slot and the available items highlight themselves. There’s no digging around trying to see what’s can be used where.
Everything is random in the dungeons. While each dungeon has a certain difficulty it’s always going to be a different set of enemies and loot. Since you’re unlocking new heroes it helps that grinding doesn’t feel repetitive.
Blocking and smashing are important. Since you’re moving all the time you’re just charging at enemines and that means you’re going to be left open a whole bunch if you don’t learn to block early on in the game. There are also enemies that wear armor that you will need to break before you can attack, that’s where smash comes in.
I have noticed that some enemies just come at you relentlessly. There are these guys with daggers that just stab the heck out of you and never stop. I haven’t figured out how to defeat them without taking some damage. Also the noise the magic using enemies make is annoying as all out. As a plus it makes you want to kill them faster but holy cow, I wish they’d change that.
The game is fast. It’s one of those games where you can explore a few dungeons just while you’re waiting to do something else. For me it’s been best played in quick bursts, your mileage may vary.
Dungeon Stars has impressed me, I’m excited for the final product.
