A hacker has gained access to Ubisoft’s Uplay DRM (Digital Rights Management) software. The hacker discovered a rootkit on the software, which allows for unwanted users to gain access to sensitive files on your PC.

The rootkit installs a plugin on your web browser. As of now, the plugin installs on Google Chrome, Mozilla FireFox and Internet Explorer. Thankfully, you can disable the plugin fairly easily by going to your browser’s settings and hitting disable.

Ubisoft has yet to comment on the news.
